My year in review

2007 was kind of a wishy washy year. Some members of my family have had health problems. My daughter and I left Virginia and our lives are better for it, but I lost my first good woman friend I’ve had for years after she betrayed my trust by pranking a girl scout activity and ruining the hard work I put into it. It is nice to be back in New England. I missed the snow and cold weather. My daughter is happy to back at her old school. I finally have a job that is both full time and nearby, although I will still apply for certified teaching positions next year.

How could I not want to meet someone with a user name like Hazelnut? ;-)

A story about Pattie A.

She’s really cool and she lives close enough for me to actually meet her.

One thing you probably didn't know about RufusTheGnome

Rufus freaked me out because I thought that I had injured him, but it turns out that he has been already been treated for his injury.

Why I want to meet Agent99

She seems funny and smart. If she has, in fact, secured the internship she was telling me about, it is likely that I will meet her sometime in the near future.

Why I want to meet cathibeth

Hmm…most people get annoyed by my affectionate nicknames. It’s a relief to finally have someone embrace one.

Why Hazelnutnut should want to meet me

Because I’m the International Star of the Year! Why else?

Besides, I will always have a fondness for hazelnutnut for helping me to escape from that locked box….oops was that supposed to be a secret?

My year in review

2005 was a pretty good year. I started graduate school. I got to be in a dance show. My daughter’s reading ability finally caught up with that of her peers. I wrote a novel. We went to the beach. Someone called me up and offered me a job. I started keeping track of my hopes, dreams, and frustrations on 43 things. I feel that I have grown a lot this year. The major disappointment was that I didn’t get to do my student teaching in the fall, but I will be starting in about 20 day, so it doesn’t bother me as much. I feel that I am still in the process of becoming the person I want to be, but that I have come very far this year, and it’s already looking good for next year.

My social life still needs a lot of work. I’m hoping that this will change in 2006.

Why I want to meet Susan Branch

I love her cookbooks, the way she decorates her recipes. I think I’ve walked right by her house on Martha’s Vinyard without even realizing it. (There are pictures of it in some of her books.)
