How could I not want to meet someone with a user name like Hazelnut? ;-)

She’s really cool and she lives close enough for me to actually meet her.

She knits, she writes, she’s a mom, and she’s coming to my area.

Rufus freaked me out because I thought that I had injured him, but it turns out that he has been already been treated for his injury.

She seems funny and smart. If she has, in fact, secured the internship she was telling me about, it is likely that I will meet her sometime in the near future.

Hmm…most people get annoyed by my affectionate nicknames. It’s a relief to finally have someone embrace one.

Because I’m the International Star of the Year! Why else?

Besides, I will always have a fondness for hazelnutnut for helping me to escape from that locked box….oops was that supposed to be a secret?

2005 was a pretty good year. I started graduate school. I got to be in a dance show. My daughter’s reading ability finally caught up with that of her peers. I wrote a novel. We went to the beach. Someone called me up and offered me a job. I started keeping track of my hopes, dreams, and frustrations on 43 things. I feel that I have grown a lot this year. The major disappointment was that I didn’t get to do my student teaching in the fall, but I will be starting in about 20 day, so it doesn’t bother me as much. I feel that I am still in the process of becoming the person I want to be, but that I have come very far this year, and it’s already looking good for next year.

My social life still needs a lot of work. I’m hoping that this will change in 2006.

I love her cookbooks, the way she decorates her recipes. I think I’ve walked right by her house on Martha’s Vinyard without even realizing it. (There are pictures of it in some of her books.)
